is JT Batchelor, 9-10 Culford Mews, Islington, N1 4DZ. As well as selling leather related goods they also hire their machines out. They try to be as ethically aware as possible and don't stock exotic leather and no animal has been killed for their skin. This is where we got the leather and fittings for the Vers Libre JR's. I've been there a few times now and the shop always seem to be busy...

I designed this mirror for Studio Yra's Particles of Poetry exhibition in Stockholm last October. The text is taken from a Dada manifesto. "If I suddenly find it's no longer enough to hold every word in my hand like pretty pearly objects, every word will enable me to listen to the sea, and in the mirror of their sound will i find no image but my own"

My Friend Yarn

My lovely friend & brilliant graphic designer Lisa is venturing in to the product design world. It's a mother daughter collaboration and their first product is a series of handcrafted knitted cushions. Her mother has a background in textile design and her skills, combined with Lisas lovely illustrations is a perfect match. Their website is under construction but the online shop will be up and running shortly as the cushions will be properly launched this autumn. Another one of London's gems! The paper bags seller Gardeners at 149 Commercial Street. It was established in 1870 by the lovely owner Paul's great-grandfather, which makes him a fourth generation Market Sundriesman. Love it! Got some bags for the market this weekend.

Selling out: Printmaking

Yesterday I attended a talk arranged by the Artquest at the London Print Studio. The seminar included a talk by Nobrow a independent publishing platform for graphic artists. The talks are suppose to give artists the knowledge to sustain their practice. I guess the conclusion was that when it comes to selling your work there is no right or wrong formula, but that conceptual prints might not sell as well as a commercial print of an cat... Well I've been thinking about doing a series of animal prints so maybe it's time. Anyway, what I'm very excited about is that the Print Studio has an apparently underused LETTERPRESS. Needless to say I signed up for a membership.

Studio Yra has joint custody of Juan El Fox. He's from my neck of the woods, Lapland and found by my dad. Currently with Lina in Dalston but I shall pick him up over the weekend I think. On this photo he's wearing one of the necklaces we made for our Particles of Poetry exhibition in Stockholm 2010.

The green & red version. These are available to by through Studio Yra. Inspiration is taken from the French-language play by Romanian-born author Tristan Tzara. It is one of the most recognisable plays inspired by Dadaism.

These are made by KERO, a company that started in the village of Sattajärvi, about 50 kilometers from the village where I grew up, in Sweden's far north. We used to wear them as kids. In fact I think my dad still have his pair from the 70's... The company has recently had a bit of a revival and they're now making lovely satchel bags as well as iphone cases. www.kero.se

Danish Typeface designers e-Type have opened a shop for their type foundry in Copenhagen, Denmark. Customers can buy digital fonts in a physical space. Studio Yra's 'Vers Libre' would fit right in...
